Miami, FL (Sports Network) - Miami Heat forward Chris Bosh is sidelined indefinitely after an MRI exam on Monday revealed a strained abdominal muscle.
Bosh suffered the injury shortly before halftime of Sunday's Eastern Conference semifinal opener against the Indiana Pacers.
Bosh dunked over Pacers center Roy Hibbert and drew the foul with 1:06 remaining in the second quarter, but landed awkwardly and remained on the floor momentarily. He made the free throw, cutting Miami's deficit to 48-42, and contested Hibbert's miss on Indiana's next possession before departing for the locker room.
In six playoff games, Bosh has averaged 14.7 points and 6.8 rebounds. He averaged 18.0 points, 7.9 rebounds and 1.8 assists in 57 regular-season games.
The Heat went on to a 95-86 win on Sunday to take a 1-0 series lead. Game 2 is set for Tuesday in Miami.
