Dozens of home in the area received substantial damage

Explosion+destroys+homes+on+south+side

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - An explosion has completely destroyed two homes and damaged dozens of others.

The Indianapolis Fire Department says the explosion happened on the 8400 block of Field Fair Way and Towhees Drive.

Dispatchers say there was an explosion on the south side of the city.

Our crew at the scene say two homes have been completely destroyed. Four other homes are burning and homes for over a block in each direction of the explosion are damaged.
